Genesis Hope is an incredible ministry that reaches so much of the community in the province of KwaZulu Natal through the church, gyms, music, sports, surfing, safe places for women and children, medical home visits, camps, day care, a home for abandoned babies, youth groups, and more. Much of Port Shepstone is impoverished and faces social injustice. Genesis aims to bring lasting change to this part of the country. I’ve seen the impact with my own eyes and am so grateful to have the opportunity to live and serve long term there.I will be working primarily in the El Roi Baby Home and the Murchison Community Center. At the baby home, I’ll be taking care of infants who have been abandoned and working with partners on adoptions, donations, etc. At the Murchison Community Center, my role will be working with youth and organizing camps, sports events, and projects like rebuilding houses.
